Tobias Elliott-Walter | Rolfing® Structural Integration & ScarWork™ | Saarbrücken & Beyond
Your body adapted — intelligently, necessarily. Some of those adaptations may have quietly stopped serving you.
Rolfing® Structural Integration and ScarWork™ in Saarbrücken — hands-on bodywork that works with your structure, movement, and nervous system, not just a symptom.
Does this Sound familiar?
You've lived with it so long it feels normal. The tightness across your shoulders when you sit at a desk for hours. The low back that always grips a little too much. The scar that still feels numb, pulled, or uncomfortable years after surgery. The body that never quite recovered from injury — or from life. Maybe you've tried massage. Maybe physio. Maybe you've been told to stretch more, move more, or just learn to live with it. But something still doesn't feel right. You're not imagining it. And you don’t have to be stuck with it.
A different kind of bodywork
Rolfing® Structural Integration is a systematic approach to the body's connective tissue — the fascial network that wraps, connects, and supports everything inside you. When that network is organised and balanced, movement becomes easier, tension patterns ease, and the body stops working against itself. ScarWork™ is a gentle, specialised form of scar tissue therapy. It works with scars of all ages — surgical, injury, burn — to improve how the tissue feels and moves, and to reconnect it to the surrounding area. This isn't massage. It isn't physiotherapy. It's precise, attentive work that takes the whole body into account — and invites your nervous system along for the ride.
SESSIONS ARE AVAILABLE AS:
Single sessions — ideal for an introduction, specific areas, or ongoing maintenance
Rolfing® 3-, 5-, or 10-Session Series — structured sequences designed to work through the body systematically
ScarWork™ 3- or 5-Session Packs — focused scar work, often combined with Rolfing® sessions
Initial orientation session — a low-barrier starting point: we talk through what you're experiencing, you can feel what the work is like, and you leave with a clearer picture of what might help
Sessions take place in person at the practice in Saarbrücken — a city at the heart of Europe, on the border with France and Luxembourg — or as individual live 1:1 sessions via Zoom, for clients locally as well as those based internationally or working from wherever they are. For retreats, workshops, or private sessions abroad, tailored arrangements are possible; please get in touch to discuss availability and pricing.
I’M Tobias.
I'm a Certified Rolfer® and ScarWork™ practitioner based in Saarbrücken, working in English and German. My clients include desk workers, athletes, musicians, creatives, people recovering from surgery or injury — people from all walks of life who've found their way here looking for something different.
I came to this work after years in other fields — including hospitality and yoga — and what I found in Rolfing® was something that made sense of the body in a way nothing else had. Connective tissue, load, structure, nervous system response: there's solid science underneath the hands-on work, and it's a field that's still opening up — fascia research has produced some genuinely surprising findings in recent years, and that ongoing discovery is part of what keeps this work interesting. I care about understanding it clearly so I can explain it clearly.
My sessions are attentive, unhurried, and grounded in what's actually happening in your body — not a protocol applied from the outside to a body that deserves more than that.
I'm currently completing Heilpraktiker training — a German natural health practitioner qualification with no direct equivalent in English — due in Autumn 2026, which will expand how I work with clients in the longer term.
If you're curious, the best next step is to get in touch.

FAQ
Does Rolfing® hurt?
Rolfing® is generally experienced as firm, focused pressure — most people describe sessions as somewhere between deeply relaxing and "deeply strange in a good way." The work is done in close communication with you and intensity is adjusted throughout. Areas of long-standing tension may feel more intense, but significant pain is not the goal and not necessary for the work to be effective.
Is it covered by health insurance?
In Germany, Rolfing® Structural Integration is not covered by statutory health insurance (GKV). Reimbursement through private health insurance (PKV) or supplementary plans is occasionally possible but not the norm — it's worth checking directly with your insurer. Outside of Germany, coverage varies depending on your provider and plan — if you're based internationally, it's worth checking with your insurer directly. I'm happy to provide a receipt or documentation to support any claim you choose to make.
What happens in the first session?
We start with a conversation: what brings you here, what you've noticed in your body, what you've tried before, what you're hoping for. Then I do some movement observation — just watching how you stand and walk — before the hands-on work begins. The first session is also a chance for you to experience what the work actually feels like and ask any questions. There's no pressure to commit to anything further at that point.
What's the difference between Rolfing® and massage?
Massage primarily works on muscle tension and relaxation. Rolfing® Structural Integration works with the fascial system — the connective tissue that surrounds and connects everything in the body — with the aim of improving how the whole structure is organised and moves. A key part of the work is also educational: sessions include movement cues, body awareness prompts, and practical take-aways that help people notice and use their body more effectively between sessions. The approach is more systematic and typically unfolds across a series of sessions rather than as a standalone treatment. They can complement each other well.
How many sessions do I need?
It depends on what you're bringing. The Rolfing® 10-Series is the complete, structured programme and is what most people who want to work through the whole body will find most rewarding. That said, three or five sessions in a focused area, or a single session for maintenance or a specific question, can all be genuinely useful. We can talk through what makes sense for your situation before you commit to anything.
Is it suitable for children or older adults?
Yes. The youngest clients I work with are teenagers, the oldest in their early 80s. The work is adapted to the person — pace, pressure, and approach all change depending on who's on the table. If you have a specific situation (age, health history, recent surgery, pregnancy), please get in touch before booking and we can talk it through.
